How your universe is made
Four exact steps, no randomness
1. The collapse
Add the digits, then add the digits of the answer, until one is left. This is the digital root, and it is always the remainder after dividing by 9, with a remainder of 0 shown as 9. It is the same trick bookkeepers call casting out nines.
2. The doubling path
Put 1 to 9 around a circle and keep doubling your digit, collapsing each answer. Digits 1, 2, 4, 8, 7 and 5 chase each other around one loop forever. 3 and 6 only swap with each other. 9 doubles into 9. That split is plain arithmetic, and it is the pattern the 3 6 9 legend is built on.
3. The wheel of 24
Collapse every Fibonacci number and the digits repeat every 24 steps. Your digit lights up wherever it lands on that wheel. Opposite digits always add up to 9.
4. Your fractal
Your number is multiplied by the golden ratio, and what is left after the decimal point becomes a fraction of a turn around the edge of the Mandelbrot set's heart. Your digit then nudges the point a little inward, so it always sits inside the set. That point is the c in z² + c, and it draws one Julia set, a connected shape in one piece.
